ABOUT THE ARTIST
Almaha Almaadeed is a Qatari artist, living and working in Qatar. Her work narrates around the practice of archiving cultural memory and family history. Referring to herself as a “naturalist”, she enjoys exploring the desert landscapes and flora of Qatar. The artist re-visits natural areas that are depicted in oral literature and family archives. Almaha usually works across a wide variety of media such as charcoal, oil paints, papermaking and sometimes photography. She holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking with a minor in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University.
